Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two time world boxing king Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.
Paul's Background
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the novice is still one of boxing's largest financial successes, regularly earning massive earnings.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.
Size Difference
As both boxers engaged in the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
